Any project which has just seen the light of day, as is the case here, requires a lot of time, work, dedication and effort in order to achieve a professional and consistent modus operandi, and all the potential of the people who, with their knowledge, experience and vision, turn what was originally just an idea, into a reality. At this point in time, we can say with satisfaction that Art Signal Magazine is now not only all the above, but has also managed to attract the attention not only of new contributors, whom we welcome and to whom we send our congratulations for their contributions, but also readers from all over the world. Thanks to the possibilities which the internet and digital media offer – unimaginable only a few years ago – we been visited by people from 77 countries, and our list of subscribers is constantly growing. Over the next few months our aim is to continue working on improving what we have achieved so far in these, the first stages of our journey, carrying on with the projects envisaged in order to be able to offer new sections and material in the near future.

With this new number we are pleased to see how the magazine’s five main sections up to now are being consolidated: Nodes and meetings, with two articles about the SWAB and LOOP fairs respectively, which took place in spring, in Barcelona, the city from where Art Signal Magazine is edited; the interviews section, to find out at first hand the ideas and opinions of artists and professionals; the Files section, where we try to give center stage to specific works and projects; Camera Lucida where we tackle with the fascinating world of photography, and finally the more in-depth articles gathered together under the heading Monographs. To these, we have added a new section entitled Books and publications, which will soon be complemented by more wide ranging material available on the internet. Without more ado, we invite you to enjoy this number’s contents. We also invite you to participate in the open direction which we seek to develop in the publication, either by sending your comments to the published texts, or by sending proposals for contributions to the editors. Let the artists, their works, and the reflections of those who write about them, be the main center of attention in an art magazine. This is our priority and our objective, as is mentioned in the first of the articles.
